About chatRAR
chatRAR is a tiny utility that solves one specific problem: the AI you talk to today doesn’t know anything about you tomorrow, and definitely doesn’t know anything about you when you switch from ChatGPT to Claude or Gemini.
You give it your ChatGPT export. It reads through your conversations and writes a short paragraph — your portable memory — that you can paste into any AI assistant as a first message or system prompt. That AI then knows who you are, how you like to be talked to, and what you’re working on. No integration. No API. Just text.
Why so plain?
Because this is utility software. It does one thing. The look is on purpose: a tool you trust because it acts like a tool, not a startup.
Privacy
- No accounts, no logins, no cookies that track you.
- Your
.zip/.jsonis parsed in your browser. Raw conversations never touch our servers. - Only a heavily compressed, truncated sample of your own messages is sent to an AI model so it can write your memory paragraph.
- We don’t store the sample, the result, or anything about your visit beyond standard request logs that don’t include chat content.
Limitations
- There is no “automatic sync” possible today. ChatGPT and Claude don’t expose your chat history to outside apps. Anyone who promises a one-click sync is doing something fragile (or shady).
- Very large exports get sampled — we pick recent and longest conversations as the representative slice.
- v1 supports ChatGPT exports only. Claude and Gemini imports may come later.
